La Unidad Educativa Tomás de Berlanga es el Proyecto Educativo pionero de la Fundación Scalesia, ONG dedicada a educación en las islas Galápagos, que tiene cerca de 30 años formando jóvenes de manera integral, motivando a los y las estudiantes a ser partícipes activos de su comunidad y a ser sensibles con respecto a su entorno natural. El equipo docente motiva a sus alumnos a descubrir y guiar las capacidades únicas, y su compromiso es formar futuros ciudadanos con pensamiento crítico y deseo de aprendizaje permanente.
El equipo docente de la Unidad Educativa Tomás de Berlanga participa también en el programa de Capacitación Docente en Galápagos, además de poner en práctica de manera activa junto con su equipo Docente el Currículo Contextualizado para Galápagos.
Buscamos profesionales con un alto compromiso con la educación, que reconozca las habilidades y capacidades que existen en cada uno de sus estudiantes, compañeros/as de trabajo, y que además aprecien el entorno en el cual vivimos.

Join Our Teaching Community at Tomás de Berlanga School
Tomás de Berlanga School is a charming educational institution nestled among the trees in the highlands of Santa Cruz, Galápagos Islands. We are seeking passionate and resourceful elementary, middle school, and high school teachers who are eager to embrace a new adventure and a simpler way of life.
Open Positions:
Art Teacher (All levels)
Math and Sciences Teacher (Middle School or High School)
Language Arts Teacher (Elementary, Middle School, or High School)
Requirements:
A relevant degree or certification in the subject area.
A master’s degree is preferred but not required.
Teaching qualifications or equivalent credentials.
At least three years of teaching experience in formal or informal education.
Knowledge and experience in Project-Based Learning (PBL) with a sustainability focus or similar approaches.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Oral and written fluency in English (native or very high proficiency, C1 or higher).
Oral and written fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Salaries range from $1,200 to $1,400 USD, based on qualifications and experience.

For non-residents of Galápagos: assistance with Galápagos residency paperwork and one round-trip airplane ticket between Quito or Guayaquil and Galápagos at the start and end of the employment contract.
Key Details:
Candidates must be available to reside in Galápagos by April 2025.
